Pioneer DJ have announced a new all-in-one unit the XDJ-RR. Coming in at £1,019, it’s significantly cheaper than the flagship all-in-one unit XDJ-RX2, a popular unit for smaller bars and for home use to transition to the full NXS2 setup.

There are some clear differences between the RR and the RX2, with fewer beat FX, color FX, no touchscreen and fewer performance pads but it does include a full license of rekordbox dj software worth €139. There’s also dual USB ports for seamless switchover, seven-inch full colour screen – but no touch capability – and you can even record your mix straight to USB directly from the hardware.

Pioneer DJ’s continued focus on providing entry-level DJs a route into the Pioneer DJ world with more affordable products that mimic their flagship industry-standard units is clearly paying dividends. While the RR doesn’t have all the features of the RX2, it’s still a lot of features for the price. While the RR won’t work as an external mixer there is a mic and phono input round back for shout outs or plugging in an external media player.
