AMSTERDAM DANCE EVENT RANKED AS THE WORLD’S FASTEST GROWING FESTIVAL

The Dutch festival will welcome over 400,000 attendees this year

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) have been ranked the fastest growing festival in the world, according to data collected by Stubhub.

Stubhub’s study of data from 50 of the world’s biggest festivals showed that ADE, which had just 300 attendees in 1995 compared to the 400,000 in 2018, had grown in size by 23,233 percent.

Insomniac’s EDM event Electric Daisy Carnival came in second place with a 2,600 percent increase in attendance since its debut in 1997.

Boomtown festival, which had 1,000 attendees in 2009, now welcomes over 60,000 festival-goers per year. India’s Magnetic Fields came as a runner up, with a 500 percent increase in six years.

ADE takes place from 16th to 20th October 2019 and will run both day and night programs which includes talks, art, film, photography and technology, as well as live music and club nights. Among the first artists to be announced for this year’s edition are Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, Helena Hauff and Richie Hawtin, with Ben Klock, Carl Cox, Chris Leibing and Robert Hood all slated to perform as well.
