EDM festivals and DJs have been sharing a #SaveTheSummer statement encouraging fans to stay at home to help the coronavirus pandemic and raise the chances that some events scheduled for later in the year can go ahead.

Names such as Oliver Heldens, Sander van Doorn and Martin Garrix are throwing their social media followers behind the campaign, which emphasizes the importance of following government and medical advice to combat transition and infection rates of the COVID-19 disease. Tomorrowland is among the organizations involved in #SaveTheSummer.

Major sacrifices — including social distancing and self-isolation — will ease the burden on health services across the world, which is crucial in order to save lives. It is also hoped that if the public take significant steps now things could return to normal for everyone sooner.
