COACHELLA HAS BEEN FORCED TO CANCEL ITS RESCHEDULED 2020 EVENT

Lollapalooza has also been forced to cancel by City of Chicago

Coachella has been forced to cancel its rescheduled 2020 event.

The California festival had originally rescheduled from its original dates in April to the 9th – 11th and 16th – 18th October 2020, as various global festivals and events, including Tomorrowland Winter, Miami Winter Music Conference, SXSW, Miami’s Ultra, announced cancellations or postponements in the same weeks due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Chicago music festival Lollapalooza also recently announced it would not be taking place this year following advice from City of Chicago Council.

Riverside County public health officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser announced that amid the pandemic, it would be impossible for the two-weekend event to take place.

Speaking on the precautions put into place preventing the festival, Kaiser said “These decisions are not taken lightly with the knowledge that many people will be impacted. My first priority is the health of the community.”

Coachella are yet to announce the new 2021 dates.
